The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) is in mourning following the tragic death of its Member of Parliament and Deputy Chief Whip, Khethamabala Petros “KP” Sithole. The 68-year-old politician was fatally shot in Katlehong on Gauteng’s East Rand on Saturday night.
Sithole was a dedicated and long-serving member of the IFP’s National Council, with a distinguished political career spanning several leadership roles. He previously served as the party’s Gauteng Provincial Chairperson and was an active member of Parliament’s Portfolio Committee on Communications and Digital Technologies at the time of his death.
The IFP has expressed deep shock and sorrow over the killing, describing Sithole as a committed leader who served with integrity. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting, and no arrests have been reported yet.
Tributes have poured in from across the political spectrum, with colleagues honoring Sithole’s legacy of service. The IFP has called for justice and urged anyone with information to come forward.
