Westernburg Police Arrest Four Suspects Linked to Attempted Murder and House Robbery

In an intelligence-driven operation, detectives from Westernburg and members of Polokwane Visible Policing raided a targeted address in the Westernburg policing precinct, leading to the arrest of three foreign nationals found in possession of suspected stolen property.

The seized items included a solar inverter, a solar battery, various cellphones, and laptops. Preliminary investigations revealed that the recovered goods were linked to an attempted murder and house robbery in Sebayeng, outside Mankweng, where a victim was shot and injured during the crime. A case of possession of stolen goods has been opened at the Westernburg SAPS.

The operation expanded, resulting in the arrest of a fourth suspect connected to the same crime. Authorities also recovered a silver Polo with Gauteng registration plates, allegedly used during the commission of the offense. Additionally, a firearm with ammunition and a spent cartridge were found hidden in bushes near the suspects’ residence.

The suspects are set to appear before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court for possession of suspected stolen property and illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition. They will also face charges of attempted murder and house robbery in the Mankweng court.

Police investigations are ongoing.
