MK Party Denies Instability Amid Leadership Redeployment

Umkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party Member of Parliament Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla has dismissed claims of internal instability following the recent redeployment of senior party member Floyd Shivambu from his role as Secretary-General to Parliament.

Zuma-Sambudla addressed the matter during MK Party activities in Seshego, outside Polokwane, asserting that the party remains stable and focused on growth.

“There is no destabilization. We are a growing party, and we’re going to encounter many issues,” she said. “We started crawling, now we’re walking, and soon we’ll be sprinting to the Union Buildings. Once again, there’s no instability—we’re very, very stable.”

Shivambu, who assumed the Secretary-General position in 2024, was recently reassigned to parliamentary duties, sparking speculation about internal divisions. However, Zuma-Sambudla emphasized that the party’s decisions are strategic and logical, regardless of external perceptions.

“What we do makes sense to our party. It doesn’t matter how it looks from the outside—for us, it works,” she stated.

The MK Party, which has been expanding its political presence, remains confident in its trajectory despite leadership adjustments. Zuma-Sambudla’s remarks sought to reassure supporters and counter narratives of disarray as the party prepares for future electoral contests.
