In a swift, intelligence-driven operation, Limpopo police apprehended seven suspects connected to a brazen business robbery at the Ice Cream Factory in the Polokwane CBD this past Monday.
The incident occurred on 03 November 2025, at approximately 09:00, when a group of armed suspects stormed the premises. They accosted employees and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash, various items, and cellphones before fleeing the scene.
Acting on a tip-off, a multidisciplinary team mobilized and tracked the suspects to a safe house in the Zorra Section, Solomondale, within the Sebayeng policing area near Mankweng. The operation was executed within an hour of the initial robbery.
Upon arrival at the property, police found the suspects consuming alcohol. One suspect opened fire on the officers and managed to escape. However, the team swiftly arrested six male suspects, aged between 28 and 52, all from Mamelodi in Gauteng Province. A 34-year-old female homeowner was also taken into custody at the scene.
The operation led to the significant recovery of four firearms with live ammunition, the stolen goods from the factory, and a white Audi S3 confirmed to have been used during the commission of the crime.

The suspects are now facing a litany of charges, including business robbery, possession of illegal firearms and ammunition, and possession of stolen goods. They are scheduled to make their first appearance before the Mankweng Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 05 November 2025.
Police confirmed that further investigations are underway to potentially link the suspects to other business robberies committed in Limpopo, Gauteng, and Mpumalanga.
