In a precision intelligence-driven operation, a 16-year-old male was arrested for drug dealing in Silvertown on Thursday, 11 December 2025. The operation was conducted by members attached to Operation Lockdown III.
Acting on specific information about a person dealing in drugs and in possession of unlicensed firearms, the members operationalised the intelligence and moved to a premises on Antony Road, Silvertown, at 12:00.
Upon arrival, a search led to the seizure of 49 mandrax tablets, six sachets of dagga, and six dagga cigarettes. An undisclosed amount of cash, believed to be the proceeds of crime, was also confiscated. No firearms were found at this scene.
The suspect was arrested for dealing in drugs and detained at Athlone SAPS. He is expected to appear in the Athlone Magistrate’s Court once formally charged.
