Springbok Police Arrest Woman, Seize Drugs Worth R45,000

A 25-year-old woman was arrested by the South African Police Service (SAPS) in Springbok on Friday, 12 December 2025, on charges of dealing in drugs.

The arrest followed an intelligence-driven operation initiated after police received information at approximately 12:00 regarding an alleged drug delivery scheduled to occur in the parking area of a local shopping centre.

Acting on the tip, officers proceeded to the identified location where they located and approached the suspect. A search of her person led to the discovery of suspected methaqualone tablets and methamphetamine.

The suspect subsequently cooperated with authorities and led them to her residence in Nababeep. With her consent, a search of the premises was conducted, resulting in the recovery of additional methaqualone tablets.

In total, police seized a substantial quantity of suspected drugs. The confiscated items included methaqualone tablets with an estimated street value of R29,940 and methamphetamine valued at approximately R15,000.

The suspect was arrested and formally charged for dealing in drugs. She is expected to appear in the Springbok Magistrate’s Court soon.
