The Evander Magistrate’s Court in Mpumalanga has sentenced Nonhlanhla Portia Nkosi (30) to 57 years’ imprisonment for murder, kidnapping, and assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The charges followed a police investigation into the disappearance of Sfiso Lucky Khubeka, reported missing on 21 April 2024. The investigation led to the arrest of a syndicate involved in kidnapping, assault, intimidation, cybercrime, and robbery.
Khubeka’s body was found in the Roodebank River, with his hands tied with cable ties and his legs tied with a rope attached to a large rock.
