The Evander Regional Court today sentenced four men for kidnapping and rape.
Khumbula Alfred Magubane (33), Nkosinathi Manana (34), Vusi Kleinboy Nhlapo (29), and Sibusiso Edward Namane (25) were sentenced after being found guilty on 02 December 2025.
The court found that on 24 February 2019, the four men kidnapped a 37-year-old woman in Secunda. They forced her into a vehicle, took her to an open field, and raped her. They then drove to a shack in the Embalenhle area and raped her again.
The victim escaped after one of the perpetrators intervened when the others allegedly planned to kill her.
The sentences are:

Kidnapping: 5 years imprisonment.

Two counts of Rape: Life imprisonment for each count.
The court also declared all four unfit to possess a firearm and ordered their names be added to the National Register for Sex Offenders.
