Joint Operation Nets Suspected Drug Dealer in Majaneng Village

A coordinated intelligence-driven operation by multiple police units resulted in the arrest of a 31-year-old man on charges of possession and dealing in drugs on Monday morning.

The operation was conducted on 16 February 2026, in Majaneng village, which falls under the Moletlane policing area. It involved members of the Lebowakgomo Detectives, Moletlane Crime Prevention, and the Capricorn District Drugs and Firearms Task Team.

According to police reports, the team acted on intelligence regarding suspected drug dealing activities at a specific address in the village. Upon arrival, they located the suspect and conducted a search of the premises.

The search led to the confiscation of illegal substances, including 221 sachets of nyaope, 30 sachets of crystal meth, and 14 sachets of dagga. The combined street value of the seized drugs is estimated at approximately R8,000.

In addition to the narcotics, law enforcement officials seized cash amounting to over R6,000, which is suspected to be proceeds from drug dealing. The suspect is in custody and is expected to appear in court soon facing the charges.
