Traditional Healer Sentenced to 25 Years for Rape of Minor

The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has welcomed the sentencing of a 54-year-old traditional healer for the rape of a 10-year-old girl.

The accused, a resident of Sekopung Village, was handed a 25-year imprisonment term by the Burgersfort Regional Court on Thursday.

The case was investigated by Sergeant Letsatsi Mojalefa of the Burgersfort Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit. The investigation was conducted in close collaboration with Prosecutor Ngoako Petlo of the Burgersfort Regional Court.
