Two Arrested, R1 Million Dagga Seized in Limpopo

Police in Limpopo have arrested two suspects and seized dagga with an estimated street value of R1 million following an intelligence-driven operation on Saturday.

According to the South African Police Service (SAPS), members of the Leboeng SAPS acted on a tip-off about a vehicle suspected of transporting a large consignment of dagga along the R36 road near Ga Moraba village on 21 February 2026.

At approximately 08:30, police operationalized the information and located a blue VW Polo Vivo parked along the roadside. The vehicle was occupied by two male suspects, aged 22 and 44.

A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of seven bags containing dagga, wrapped in brown sellotape. The consignment was weighed and confirmed to be approximately 117.45 kilograms.

The two occupants were arrested on the spot and have been charged with dealing in dagga. They are scheduled to appear before the Praktiseer Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 23 February 2026.
