Foreign Businessman Shot Dead in Supermarket

Police have launched a manhunt for two suspects following the fatal shooting of a 39-year-old foreign national at a supermarket in the Bolobedu policing area on Monday.

According to authorities, the incident occurred at approximately 10:00 on 23 February 2026, inside a shop located within a shopping complex. The victim, believed to be a businessman, was accompanied by companions at the time of the attack.

Reports indicate that two unknown male suspects entered the shop armed with a firearm and shot the victim multiple times without uttering a word before fleeing the scene.

Police were alerted to the shooting and responded promptly. Upon arrival, they discovered the victim lying on the floor with multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel were summoned and certified the man dead at the scene.

Preliminary investigations suggest the suspects fled in a white Ford Fiesta motor vehicle bearing an unknown Gauteng registration number.

The motive for the killing remains unknown at this stage. Authorities are appealing to anyone with information to come forward as the investigation continues.
