Dagga Worth Over R670,000 Intercepted at OR Tambo

A multi-million rand drug bust unfolded at OR Tambo International Airport (ORTIA) this week, following the discovery of a large quantity of dagga.

The seizure occurred on Thursday, 05 March 2026, at a separate cargo warehouse within the airport complex. During standard operations, police officials identified eight large boxes containing the substance. The dagga is valued at approximately R672,000.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the consignment had been shipped from Morocco and was destined for South Africa. The drugs have been confiscated, and police have launched an investigation to apprehend the traffickers involved.
