Fidelity Services Group Empowers Women Through Safety

As International Women’s Month puts the spotlight on empowerment, Fidelity is urging women to prioritise practical, proactive safety habits that build confidence every day, not just during March, but year-round.

With personal safety continuing to be a concern for many women and girls, the company is focusing on realistic, actionable steps that can easily be incorporated into daily routines.

Fidelity recommends the following practical safety measures:

  • Share your plans with a trusted friend or family member before leaving home
  • Stay alert in public spaces, particularly in parking areas and when using public transport
  • Keep valuables out of sight to avoid attracting unnecessary attention
  • Save emergency contacts on speed dial for quick access in urgent situations
  • Scan your surroundings when approaching your home or vehicle
  • Trust your instincts and remove yourself from situations that feel unsafe
  • Use safety technology, including mobile panic buttons and monitored response services, for rapid assistance when needed.

“We need to continue shining a light on this issue, not only this month but throughout the year and provide women with practical, empowering tools to help protect themselves,” says Charnel Hattingh, Group Head of Marketing and Communications at Fidelity Services Group.

Beyond individual action, Fidelity emphasises that safety is strengthened through technology and community support. Services such as 24-hour monitoring, armed response, neighbourhood patrols and smart security systems provide an added layer of reassurance, ensuring help is always within reach.

The company also highlights the role communities play in creating safer environments. Reporting suspicious activity, checking in on neighbours, and fostering connected neighbourhoods contribute to collective security and support.

International Women’s Month serves as a reminder that safety and empowerment go hand in hand. By combining everyday awareness, accessible security solutions and shared responsibility, women can navigate their environments with greater confidence.
