FNB Private leads the 2026 Euromoney Awards, with FNB Premier Banking securing top honours

FNB Private has once again earned multiple honours in the prestigious Euromoney Global Private Banking Awards*, reaffirming its leadership in private banking and integrated wealth management. Complementing this achievement, FNB Premier Banking was named Best for Premier Banking in South Africa and Africa, underscoring the strength and depth of FNB’s capabilities across the emerging affluent and private client segments.

Lytania Johnson, CEO of FNB Personal Segment, says the recognition for Premier Banking highlights the bank’s commitment to supporting clients along their wealth building journey. “Premier Banking plays a critical role in helping clients grow their financial portfolios and progress toward more sophisticated wealth solutions. Our strategy combines accessible investment solutions with strong digital capability and accessible advice – enabling clients to build sustainable financial habits and access the tools needed to grow and protect their wealth.”

Building on Premier’s strong performance, FNB Private further demonstrated its leadership across the wealth and private banking spectrum. FNB Private was named South Africa’s Best Private Bank, alongside several specialist awards recognising excellence across its investment, digital and advisory capabilities.

Sizwe Nxedlana, CEO of FNB Private, explains that these accolades speak to the bank’s long term client strategy. “The Euromoney Global Private Banking Awards are among the most respected benchmarks in global wealth management, recognising institutions that demonstrate excellence in advice, investment capability, digital innovation and client service. This recognition affirms our longstanding commitment to deeply understanding our clients and their families, and to delivering integrated advice and financial solutions that support every aspect of their financial lives, today and into the future.”

He adds that private banking has evolved significantly. “Private banking today is about far more than managing wealth. Our focus is on building long term partnerships with clients through integrated advice that meaningfully connects banking, lending, investments, insurance and fiduciary solutions. These awards recognise the strength of our advice led model, supported by strong investment capability, digital innovation and a deep understanding of our clients’ evolving needs, and they reaffirm our role as a trusted long term wealth partner.”

A year of strong performance

FNB Premier delivered strong and sustained financial performance, underpinned by rising client trust and growing engagement across investments, savings and transactional banking. Assets under management grew strongly year on year, supported by higher investment penetration as Premier clients adopted more structured investment and long-term savings solutions. This growth reinforces Premier’s position as an enabler of wealth creation for emerging affluent clients.

Johnson adds that digital engagement remains central to delivering value. “Our digital platform enables clients to manage everyday banking, savings and investments within a single ecosystem. When supported by relevant guidance and investment solutions, this creates a strong foundation for long term financial progress.”

Premier’s strong digital adoption and rising investment engagement during the review period supported broader momentum across FNB’s affluent segments. The segment continues to play a pivotal role in helping clients transition toward more sophisticated wealth solutions as their needs evolve.

Building on this trajectory, FNB Private’s strong financial performance reflects the impact of the businesses integrated strategy, with solid growth across assets under management, advances and deposits. Investment performance remained robust, with heightened offshore equities reinforcing the bank’s competitive position. Increased adoption of discretionary portfolio management also contributed to deeper client engagement and long-term value creation.

Nxedlana adds, “Our long-term strategy remains centred on delivering meaningful outcomes for clients. We continue to strengthen our investment platform, expand discretionary portfolio management capabilities, enhance digital engagement, and integrate sustainability across our investment processes. This is supported by deep client relationships delivered through a multidisciplinary advisory model that brings together specialists across investment management, lending, fiduciary services and cross border structuring.”

Shared commitment to excellence

Both Nxedlana and Johnson agree that FNB’s continued recognition at the Euromoney Awards reaffirms the bank’s long-term strategy and client centred approach.

“Our continued success reflects the strength of our integrated approach to banking and wealth management,” Nxedlana concludes. “By combining deep client relationships, strong investment expertise and a leading digital platform, we provide meaningful solutions that help clients achieve their financial ambitions locally and globally.
