JUPITER ISLAND, Florida — Authorities in Florida have released new photos from a rollover crash involving golf legend Tiger Woods. Deputies say Woods’ Land Rover flipped after clipping the back of a truck on Jupiter Island in South Florida.
Both drivers were unhurt in the incident, which occurred around 2 p.m. Friday on a two-lane road near Beach Road. Woods was able to crawl out of the passenger side of the overturned vehicle. However, deputies arrested Woods on suspicion of driving under the influence after he showed signs of impairment at the scene.
Martin County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Christine Weiss confirmed details of the investigation. Woods underwent a breathalyzer test and blew triple zeros, indicating no alcohol in his system. When asked to submit to a urinalysis test to check for other substances, he refused. As a result, he faces charges of DUI with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test.
The spokesperson noted that investigators accounted for Woods’ history of injuries and surgeries during roadside testing but still observed signs of impairment consistent with possible medication or drug influence.
The crash comes just days after Woods returned to competition at the TGL Finals, where his Jupiter Links GC team competed. The 15-time major champion had been working his way back following a ruptured Achilles tendon in March 2025 and subsequent back surgery. He had been planning to appear at the Masters next month.
This is not Woods’ first rollover crash. In 2021, he suffered serious leg and ankle injuries when his SUV drove off a road near Los Angeles. It is also the second time he has been arrested on a DUI charge; the previous incident occurred in 2017 in South Florida.
Woods, 50, was booked into the Martin County Jail and released later Friday night after posting bond, following the standard eight-hour hold required under Florida law for DUI arrests. Arraignment is expected in Martin County Circuit Court within the next two to three weeks.
Newly released photos from the scene show the damaged Land Rover on its side and Woods standing nearby. The incident has drawn attention as Woods continues his recovery and competitive return.
