Deadly Shooting Near South Broadway and Maple Avenue Ruled Homicide; Road Rage Possibly a Factor

DENVER, Colorado – Denver Police are investigating a deadly shooting that happened on South Broadway early on Easter Sunday morning as a homicide that may have stemmed from a road rage incident.

One person is in the hospital after being shot in downtown Denver. Denver Police say it happened in the area of Broadway and Maple during the early hours this morning. Right now, there’s no word on the extent of the victim’s injuries. Denver Police say they are still working on finding a suspect.

The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. near the intersection of South Broadway and West Maple Avenue. Officers responded to reports of a shooting and located a victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a hospital, where they were later pronounced dead. Denver Police have classified the case as a homicide.

At the time of the initial alert, investigators indicated the shooting may have been related to a road rage incident, though no further details on the circumstances, suspect description, or vehicle involved were immediately released. No arrests have been reported as police continue to gather evidence and seek information from the public.
