Midlothian, Texas — An 11-year-old girl was shot during a domestic disturbance in the 400 block of Brook Meadow Drive on Sunday and is recovering from non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
According to authorities, officers responded to the neighborhood near the intersection of 663 and Hawkins Run, where they found the girl suffering from a gunshot wound. Police described the incident as appearing to stem from a domestic disturbance, though the exact circumstances of what led to the shooting remain under investigation.
Investigators do not believe the girl was shot intentionally, but they continue to gather information and piece together the events that unfolded in the home. The child was transported to Children’s Hospital for treatment, where her injuries have been classified as non-life-threatening.
