San Antonio Police Search for Two Men Accused of Robbing Northwest Side Convenience Store and Threatening to Shoot Clerk

San Antonio police are searching for two men who robbed a Northwest Side convenience store and threatened to shoot and kill the clerk during the incident.

The robbery occurred at the Pit Stop Food Mart No. 23, located in the 1200 block of Babcock Road near Hillcrest, just after 3 p.m. on March 27.

According to the store’s owner, one suspect first entered the store and stole a beer. The owner said the clerk locked the door in an attempt to prevent the theft. A second suspect was with him, and one of the men began waving his hands, urging the clerk to open the door. When the clerk refused, the suspect became aggressive and started kicking the door, breaking the glass.

Rather than absorb the loss from the damaged door, the clerk opened it and allowed the two suspects to leave. The pair later returned a second time and took more beer. When the clerk tried to stop them, one of the suspects threatened her, saying he would come back and “do something to you,” including shooting her. The clerk became extremely scared, and the suspects then left the store.

The owner stated that the clerk immediately called him afterward, asking him to rush to the store because she was afraid. The owner, who did not appear on camera for safety reasons, expressed concern that employees should not have to feel terrified at work.

“Many people have gotten shot over beer runs, and we’ve seen multiple people that sometimes they come and they shoot people for a pack of cigarettes, so that’s really hectic,” the owner said. “We as employees, we shouldn’t be terrified.”

The store owner is asking the community to help identify the suspects and hopes they are caught before something more serious occurs. San Antonio police have released photos of the two men in connection with the case.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest. Tips can be submitted anonymously.
