A 23-year-old male suspect was arrested in the Mncwasa locality under the Kwaaiman policing precinct on Thursday, 09 April 2026, at approximately 15:00.
The arrest followed an operation by Kwaaiman police acting on received information. The suspect was apprehended while herding eleven sheep. According to the South African Police Service (SAPS), two accomplices managed to evade arrest during the incident. The sheep, reported stolen from a kraal the previous night, have been positively identified by their rightful owner.
The arrested suspect is scheduled to appear before the Mqanduli Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 10 April 2026. He faces charges of unlawful possession of suspected stolen stock.
