Son Arrested for Tampering with Evidence After Father’s Body Found in Bloody Trash Bag

San Antonio – A welfare check prompted by concerned out-of-town relatives led to the grim discovery of a father’s body concealed in a blood-leaking trash bag inside his West Side home, according to an arrest warrant.

Police were contacted last Saturday after a family member requested a check on 54-year-old Daniel Antonio Ordonez while tracking his phone. Investigators located his truck at a rental property that had a bullet hole in the window, which directed them to the victim’s residence on the 3100 block of Vera Cruz Street, where he lived with his son.

At the home, authorities found a trash bag leaking blood containing the victim’s body. Detectives also observed signs of a cleanup attempt and the presence of blood inside the residence. The medical examiner later determined that Daniel Antonio Ordonez died from a gunshot wound to the head.

The arrest warrant charges 31-year-old Daniel Sebastian Ordonez, the victim’s son, with tampering with evidence and failure to report human remains. Video evidence reportedly shows Daniel Sebastian Ordonez purchasing duct tape, bags of concrete, and a mummy-style sleeping bag in the period surrounding the incident.

Daniel Sebastian Ordonez was arrested this weekend. He has not been charged with murder at this time.

The case remains under investigation.
