A grand jury has indicted the man accused of shooting and killing a Gwinnett County police officer, authorities announced.
Kevin Andrews Jr. now faces malice murder and other charges in connection with the February shooting death of senior officer Pradeep Tamang.
According to police, Andrews opened fire on officers at a Stone Mountain Hotel after they attempted to arrest him on outstanding warrants.
Master Police Officer David Reed was also injured in the gunfire. In addition to the murder and attempted murder charges, Andrews is facing multiple gang-related charges.
Prosecutors have announced they plan to seek the death penalty when the case goes to trial.
