Police in Seshego have arrested a 25-year-old man for the alleged rape of a mentally challenged woman at a village within the Seshego policing area.
The rape occurred on 17 March 2026. A 32-year-old mentally disabled female reported the incident on the same day through her aunt.
According to the police report, the victim was home alone when the suspect, known to her as a friend of her younger brother, arrived at the residence. After confirming that no one else was present, the suspect allegedly forced the victim into the house and raped her.
Although the matter was reported to police on 17 March, officers were unable to locate the suspect immediately.
On 21 April 2026 at approximately 20:00, police traced and arrested the 25-year-old suspect in connection with the case.
The suspect is scheduled to appear soon before the Seshego Magistrate’s Court. Police investigations continue.
