A man is dead after a shooting late Friday night in southwest Atlanta, prompting a homicide investigation.
Atlanta Police Department officials reported that Zone 4 officers were dispatched to 822 White Street shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday following a call about a person shot. The initial report came in at approximately 12:50 a.m.
Arriving at the scene on White Street Southwest, officers found a man with multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency medical personnel responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The Atlanta Police Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation. Authorities confirmed that the case remains active and ongoing.
