Overnight Gunfire in New Braunfels Leaves Three Hurt; Suspect Surrenders

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – A violent outburst in the downtown area late Thursday night sent three people to the hospital, but authorities say all are expected to survive after a suspect voluntarily gave himself up.

The shooting unfolded shortly before 1:00 a.m. Police responding to the scene discovered two men and a woman with gunshot wounds.

According to investigators, the suspect had been involved in a dispute with the two men earlier in the evening. He later returned to the area and opened fire from inside a vehicle. Officials believe the woman was struck unintentionally and was not a primary target.

Following the attack, the suspect turned himself in to law enforcement. He currently faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

All three victims are expected to recover fully, police confirmed.
