‘We Are Preparing for New Attacks’: Zelenskyy Warns of Russian Escalation as Ukraine Girds for More Fighting

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has issued a stark warning that Russia shows no intention of ending the war, with fighting continuing along the front line and no ceasefire in sight.

In a late-night address, Zelenskyy said Ukraine is documenting ongoing combat activity and preparing for the possibility of fresh attacks, while reiterating that peace remains the ultimate goal. He stressed that Ukraine’s defense and independence are the nation’s top priorities.

The president also revealed that senior Ukrainian officials, including National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustam Umarov, have reported back on recent meetings held in the United States. Zelenskyy noted that discussions took place with American companies at both political and technological levels, and he confirmed that the United States remains engaged in diplomatic efforts despite shifting global attention toward other international conflicts.

On the European front, Zelenskyy announced that Germany’s Defense Minister Boris Pistorius visited Kyiv for talks centered on expanding joint defense production. This includes drone manufacturing partnerships already underway between the two countries. Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for Germany’s continued support, particularly in air defense systems and energy sector assistance.

Additionally, the Ukrainian president said Ukraine is preparing to work more closely within the E3 framework—the United Kingdom, France, and Germany—as Kyiv seeks to deepen cooperation with key European allies in both defense and reconstruction efforts amid the ongoing war.
