The South African Police Service (SAPS) Free State Murder and Robbery Unit is continuing its investigation into a fatal shooting that took place on Thursday, 14 May 2026, on the R76 route between Tweeling and Reitz. The incident left four people dead and one person seriously injured.
The deceased have been positively identified by their next of kin as Lekiba Likhetho (24), Rebone Moeketsi (26), Pule Latela (32), and Tshepang Cecilia Letsoha (27). All four victims are nationals of the Kingdom of Lesotho.
The injured survivor remains hospitalized and is receiving medical treatment.
No arrests have been made at this stage. The investigation is ongoing.
