The Acting Sarah Baartman District Commissioner, Brigadier Asogran Naidoo, has welcomed the sentence handed down by the Humansdorp Regional Court to 20-year-old Bradley Mafomi of Humansdorp on 15 May 2026.

Bradley Mafomi was sentenced to five years direct imprisonment for robbery with a weapon other than a firearm, and 15 years direct imprisonment for robbery with aggravating circumstances. The sentences relate to two separate cases involving two female victims, aged 18 and 26, both of Humansdorp. Mafomi was further declared unfit to possess a firearm.

In the first incident, the 18-year-old victim was walking with friends when the accused approached them with a knife, searched through their pockets, and took their phones.

Four days after his release on bail, Mafomi committed another robbery, forcibly taking the cellphone of a 26-year-old female in Humansdorp. He was arrested the following day and remained in custody until the conclusion of the trial and sentencing on 15 May 2026.
