Trio Arrested in Parys For Possession of Suspected Stolen Livestock Worth R100 000

Three suspects, aged between 35 and 45, have been arrested for possession of suspected stolen livestock in Parys.

On Thursday, 21 May 2026, at approximately 07:24, the Fezile Dabi District Highway Patrol, in collaboration with the Vereeniging Vehicle Crime Investigation Unit (VCIU), Sasolburg Public Order Policing (POP), and private security, acted on information regarding a white Isuzu bakkie towing a red trailer that was possibly involved in stock theft.

The vehicle was subsequently spotted on the R59 and intercepted. It was then taken to the Parys South African Police Service (SAPS) station for further investigation. A preliminary investigation determined that the cattle were stolen. All three suspects were immediately arrested on charges of possession of suspected stolen livestock. The vehicle and trailer were confiscated. A total of 10 cattle, with an estimated value of R100,000, were recovered.

The trio is expected to appear soon before the Parys Magistrate’s Court on charges of possession of suspected stolen livestock.
