A Dutch national has been arrested at OR Tambo International Airport after police seized more than 40 kilograms of Khat, estimated at a street value of R240,000.
The arrest occurred this week during an intelligence-driven operation by the South African Police Service (SAPS). According to authorities, the suspect was en route to Frankfurt, Germany, when he was intercepted.
The drugs were found concealed inside the suspect’s luggage.
The man is scheduled to appear in the Kempton Park Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 25 May 2026, facing drug trafficking charges.
