Limpopo Police Arrest House Robbery Suspect on Bus Bound for Gauteng

A 27-year-old suspect wanted for house robbery, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH), and possession of suspected stolen property was arrested on Monday, 25 May 2026, following a coordinated operation between the Provincial Flying Squad and Bandelierkop SAPS.

Members of the Provincial Flying Squad were conducting routine operational duties when they received a request from Bandelierkop SAPS to intercept a bus traveling south on the N1 highway toward Gauteng. The suspect was allegedly attempting to flee the province.

Police tracked and intercepted the bus, positively identifying the suspect. A search of the individual led to the recovery of suspected stolen copper. The suspect was arrested at the scene.

Limpopo Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, commended the officers for their swift coordination and rapid response. “This arrest demonstrates the commitment of our police officers as they ensure that criminals have no place to hide,” she said.

The suspect is expected to appear before the local Magistrate’s Court soon. Police investigations continue.
