# Firearms Task Team Nabs Suspect with Expired-License Weapon in Limpopo Village

**GA-MADISHA DITORO, MAGATLE** – Members of the Capricorn District Drugs and Firearms Task Team arrested a 49-year-old man on Friday, 29 May 2026, following the discovery of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition during a targeted operation in Ga-Madisha Ditoro village, outside Lebowakgomo.

The operation was launched after the task team received actionable intelligence. Officers proceeded to a specific address where the suspect was located and subjected to a lawful search.

During the search, police seized:
* One Norinco 9mm pistol
* Two magazines compatible with the firearm
* Eight (8) rounds of live 9mm ammunition
* Five (5) live rifle rounds
* Two (2) spent shell casings

Initial investigations by the task team confirmed that the licence for the recovered Norinco pistol had expired. Consequently, the suspect was arrested and formally charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

The accused is scheduled to make his first appearance in the Magatle Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 01 June 2026. The Capricorn District Drugs and Firearms Task Team has indicated that investigations into the matter are continuing.
