Acting on intelligence regarding suspected drug trafficking, the South African Police Service (SAPS) Soweto K9 Unit confiscated a substantial cache of medicines during a targeted raid in Zola 3 on Thursday, 11 June 2026.
When officers arrived at the residence, the suspect evaded capture by releasing aggressive dogs and fleeing the area.
Law enforcement subsequently secured the premises, gained entry, and executed a search of the property. During the sweep, police uncovered an abandoned supply of medications suspected to be stockpiled for unlawful distribution.
The confiscated inventory included boxes and bottles of Stillpain syrup, Painagon syrup, Astrapain syrup, Broncleer syrup, and Phenorant syrup, alongside containers of Mylan tablets.
No arrests have been made in connection with the incident. A manhunt for the at-large suspect is currently underway, and police investigations remain active.
