Suspect Arrested and R900,000 in Goods Recovered Following Groblersdal Business Burglary

MOTETEMA – A 45-year-old man is expected to appear in the Motetema Magistrate Court following a joint operation that led to the recovery of an estimated R900,000 in stolen property linked to a business burglary in the Groblersdal policing area.

The operation was initiated on Tuesday, 16 June 2026, after police received intelligence regarding a motor vehicle suspected of being used in the commission of the crime within the Motetema policing area.

Acting on the information, a joint task team comprising the Sekhukhune Tracking and Investigation Team, Motetema police, Ratel TJ Security, and the Farm Watch located and intercepted a white Toyota double cab bakkie in the area. The vehicle and its driver were transported to the Motetema police station for further questioning.

Subsequent follow-up investigations led authorities to a residence where the stolen goods were allegedly being stored. A woman present at the premises granted officers access to search the property. The search resulted in the recovery of stolen items with an estimated total value of R900,000.

The 45-year-old suspect remains in custody and is scheduled to make his court appearance in connection with the incident.
