Tsomo Murder Arrest: Man Faces Court for Fatal Stabbing of Girlfriend’s Relative

Eastern Cape — A 43-year-old man from the Upper Nqolose locality is scheduled to appear in the Tsomo Magistrates Court on Tuesday, 23 June 2026, charged with murder.

The suspect was arrested on Sunday, 21 June 2026, in connection with the fatal stabbing of his girlfriend’s 30-year-old male relative.

According to authorities, the incident occurred at approximately 23:00 on Saturday, 20 June 2026. The suspect and his girlfriend were drinking at their residence when the victim arrived. An altercation between the two men escalated, resulting in the suspect fatally stabbing the victim. The suspect allegedly then pushed the injured victim out of the house and locked him outside.

The following morning, the suspect and his girlfriend discovered the victim had died. In an apparent attempt to conceal the crime, the pair dragged the body away from the scene. The deceased was subsequently discovered by passers-by, who notified the police.

Preliminary investigations led to the suspect’s arrest on Sunday. The suspect’s girlfriend was taken into custody for questioning.
