ULUNDI, KWAZULU-NATAL — Following the circulation of a viral clip capturing a heated domestic altercation, Zulu monarch King Misuzulu kaZwelithini has formally apologized to his people. The controversy stems from leaked footage allegedly filmed within the royal household, showing the king in a severe dispute with his third wife.
The unauthorized recording reveals an intense and emotionally charged confrontation. In the clip, the sovereign is heard raising his voice at Queen Nomzamo Myeni, aggressively berating her and insisting that she vacate the palace premises immediately.
Addressing the public outcry, spokespeople for the royal household released an official statement taking accountability for the incident. The representatives conceded that the king’s conduct and choice of words during the argument failed to meet the high standards of dignity, restraint, and decorum traditionally expected from the head of the Zulu nation.
Acknowledging the widespread fallout, King Misuzulu expressed deep remorse, noting that his behavior inflicted profound pain, disappointment, and embarrassment. He specifically directed his apologies toward the Royal Family, the amakhosi (traditional leaders), and the broader Zulu Nation. Additionally, the monarch issued a targeted apology to the leadership of the Nazareth Baptist Church, taking responsibility for the harsh and inappropriate language directed at them during the dispute.
As the clip continues to circulate across social media platforms, the royal household has made a direct plea to the public. Spokespersons are urging citizens to stop sharing, downloading, or distributing the video any further. The statement concluded by affirming that the monarchy is managing the internal resolution of this private family matter discreetly.
