40-Year-Old Suspect to Appear in Jacobsdal Magistrate’s Court on Drug Dealing Charges

Law enforcement officers intercept three large bags of dagga in Hoop Street following an actionable tip-off

FREE STATE – A 40-year-old suspect is scheduled to appear in the Jacobsdal Magistrate’s Court to face formal drug dealing charges following a successful police interception in the town.

The arrest stems from an incident that occurred on Tuesday, 14 July 2026, at 19:45. Acting on a credible tip-off regarding an individual travelling to Jacobsdal in possession of illegal substances, Sergeant Mnumzana, Sergeant Mangweni, and Sergeant Adams promptly operationalized the intelligence.

The coordinated police response led officers to Hoop Street in Jacobsdal, where the suspect was located carrying a green sports bag. A subsequent search of the bag revealed three large plastic bags containing dagga (cannabis).

Following the discovery, the suspect was immediately placed under arrest, and a formal case of dealing in drugs was opened at the local police station.

Authorities have confirmed that investigations into the origin and supply chain of the seized narcotics are actively continuing. The suspect will soon be brought before the Jacobsdal Magistrate’s Court to answer to the charges.
