LIMPOPO — Authorities have launched an urgent manhunt in response to a devastating Thokgoaneng armed home invasion and sexual assault that has shaken the local community. Law enforcement officials are actively tracking two unknown suspects who targeted a vulnerable young woman inside her residence over the weekend.
According to a briefing provided by a local police spokesperson, the violent ordeal unfolded in the early hours of Sunday, 2 August 2026. At approximately 01:00, an 18-year-old female was by herself inside a house when two unidentified male intruders forced their way onto the property.
The spokesperson detailed that the situation escalated rapidly when one of the assailants brandished a knife to intimidate the victim. Under the direct threat of violence, the young woman was stripped of her personal belongings, which included cash, a mobile phone, and a pair of shoes. Tragically, the encounter culminated in one of the perpetrators sexually assaulting the teenager before the duo made their escape.
Following the attack, the suspects fled the premises and currently remain at large. The spokesperson confirmed that no arrests have been made in connection with the weekend crimes as of yet.
