When the gun goes off at Clearwater Mall on Saturday, 22 August 2026, organisers are hoping for their biggest field yet, with a target of 3 500 runners across three distances.
Now in its 12th year, the race is once again being run in partnership with Panorama Running Club, on a route that has become a fixture on the West Rand running calendar. Entrants can choose between a 21km half marathon, a 10km race or a 5km fun run, all starting and finishing at the mall. The two longer distances are aimed at more experienced runners, while the 5km has been built with families in mind. Children as young as five can take part, provided they are accompanied by an adult.
Last year’s race drew 2 863 entries, and organisers believe this year’s field could be even bigger.
“This is our 12th year partnering with Panorama Running Club to bring this race to the West Rand community,” said Prianka Singh Rodgers, marketing manager at Clearwater Mall. “We had 2 863 runners at the start line last year, and we would love to see that grow to 3 500 in 2026. Entries are open now, so come and join us on the road this August.”
On race day, the 21km and 10km start at 7am, with the 5km following fifteen minutes later at 7.15am.
Entries are open online at clearwatermall.co.za, closing at midnight on Tuesday, 18 August 2026. Runners who would rather enter in person can do so at Entrance 5, where the mall will be taking entries on 20 and 21 August between 1pm and 7pm. No entries will be accepted on race day itself, though race numbers can still be collected from Entrance 5 from 5.30am.
Every finisher walks away with a medal, while prize money goes to the male and female winners in each age category across all three distances. The fastest runners in the 21km and 10km also have a shot at the King and Queen of the Mountain titles, each worth a Clearwater Mall gift voucher and a course record prize.
