Acting on precise, intelligence-driven tips, a multi-disciplinary task force intercepted a transport convoy carrying burned signal wires, triggering a broader residential raid that uncovered a stash of stolen materials and heavy-duty extraction tools.
The successful operation unfolded on Wednesday, 5 August 2026, after the Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Crime Intelligence Unit received actionable information regarding an illicit cargo transfer. The intelligence indicated that stolen materials were being moved from Makwassie toward the Kgakala Location.
Multi-Agency Intercept and Residential Raids
Recognizing the urgency of the threat to local infrastructure, commanders immediately operationalized the data. A joint tactical team was assembled, pooling resources from the local Leeudoringstad police, the Rapid Railway Police Unit (RRPU), and private security partners at Sinqobile Security.
