Crocworld’s Popular Snake Shows and Crocodile Encounters Return

After a winter hiatus, the popular animal encounters are back at Crocworld Adventure & Conservation Centre in Scottburgh! Visitors can enjoy a closer look at some of the country’s most fascinating reptiles, with the return of its popular snake demonstrations and juvenile crocodile handling experiences, providing an edutaining day out!

Led by Crocworld Animal Curator Busani Mthiyane, the sessions will feature non-venomous reptiles including ball pythons and Monty, Crocworld’s Burmese python, with occasional displays of venomous species such as the forest cobra – all safely handled.

“We want people to have a better understanding of South Africa’s snake diversity and how to behave when they encounter a snake in the wild – which happens quite a lot on the KZN South Coast!” says Busani.

The demonstrations give us an opportunity to explain things like snake identification, how different species have adapted, and what people should and shouldn’t do when they see a snake. There is also a chance for supervised hands-on encounters with some of our non-venomous snakes.”

Alongside the snake demonstrations, Crocworld’s juvenile crocodile handling experience is also back, giving visitors an up-close opportunity to learn about these prehistoric reptiles under the supervision of trained staff.

The experiences form part of Crocworld’s ongoing focus on conservation education and its growing reputation as a family-friendly adventure destination where visitors can combine wildlife encounters with outdoor activities.
