KIMBERLEY — The Kimberley High Court has issued a definitive life sentence in the high-profile Soul City murder conviction, bringing a measure of justice to the family of a 28-year-old victim. On Friday, 28 August 2026, 31-year-old Shaderick Seane was formally sentenced to life imprisonment, capping off a rigorous legal process that began with a tragic discovery in Galeshewe.
The fatal incident came to light on Tuesday, 02 September 2025, when authorities discovered the deceased woman’s body inside a residential property in Soul City, Galeshewe. Forensic post-mortem findings confirmed that the victim suffered severe physical assault, with strangulation identified as the official cause of death. Investigators pieced together a grim timeline, establishing that the victim’s body had been left inside the residence for roughly two days, from Sunday, 31 August 2025, until the discovery was made.
The critical breakthrough in the case was spearheaded by Detective Warrant Officer Brendon Boraine of the Kagisho Detective Unit. Through a highly meticulous and diligent investigative process, Boraine successfully identified and apprehended Seane. Following his arrest, the accused was firmly denied bail and held in continuous custody until the final conviction and sentencing proceedings concluded at the high court.
