WESTERN CAPE – A significant Clarke Estate drug bust has resulted in the confiscation of illegal narcotics and the arrest of a suspect, marking a major success for Operation Lockdown III in its ongoing efforts to curb community drug distribution.
Acting on intelligence to dismantle local drug supply chains, members of Operation Lockdown III executed a targeted search at a residential premises located on Holmdene Street in Clarke Estate on Friday night, 04 September 2026.
During the search, police spokespersons confirmed that officers discovered a hidden cache of illegal narcotics inside the home. The confiscated stash consisted of 83 whole Mandrax tablets and seven half Mandrax tablets, which were successfully removed from the streets.
Following the discovery of the hidden drugs, a 34-year-old female suspect was arrested on the spot for the possession of drugs.
Law enforcement spokespersons noted that this operation is part of a broader strategy to ensure community safety and disrupt the local manufacturing and distribution of harmful substances. The suspect remains in police custody and is scheduled to make her first court appearance at the Goodwood Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 07 September 2026, where she will formally face charges related to the possession of the seized Mandrax.
