Newly Formed Molemole Independent Voice (MIV) Targets 16 Wards in Limpopo Elections

MOLEMOLE, LIMPOPO — The Molemole Independent Voice (MIV), a newly established political party born out of grassroots frustration over service delivery, has officially launched an aggressive door-to-door campaign across the Capricorn District. As the party prepares to contest 16 wards in the upcoming Limpopo local government elections, its leadership is taking its message directly to the residents to outline its vision for the province.

From Community Movement to Political Party

Established in August 2026, the MIV is the epitome of a modern grassroots political startup. Governed by a four-member executive committee, the organization initially began as a community movement. Residents across the Capricorn District Municipality—including the areas of Blouberg, Polokwane, and Molemole—had grown increasingly vocal about poor service delivery in their neighborhoods.

The party’s founding leaders were originally community activists who addressed local challenges through private donations and direct stakeholder engagement. According to the party’s leadership, it was the community itself that urged these activists to transition into formal politics.

Moyahabo Mapokgole, a spokesperson for the MIV, explained that the activists realized their impact was limited without formal municipal authority. By registering as a political party, the MIV aims to become the official voice of the community, allowing them to address systemic issues directly and improve the daily lives of residents at the municipal level.

Core Policy Priorities and Practical Solutions

While the party is preparing to launch its official manifesto soon, its core policy priorities are already clearly defined. Mapokgole emphasized that the MIV’s mission is to implement practical, workable solutions tailored specifically to the community’s needs.

The party has identified three critical areas of focus:

  • Water Security: Addressing the severe water shortages that have left many community members without reliable access to this basic resource.
  • Infrastructure and Access Roads: Upgrading rural access roads to ensure that public transport, emergency services, and ambulances can reliably reach all communities.
  • Local Economic Development: While the party acknowledges it cannot directly create jobs, it plans to establish platforms that encourage and support community members in starting their own businesses, thereby stimulating local job creation.

Grassroots Campaign and Voter Engagement

To build momentum ahead of the elections, the MIV is relying heavily on direct voter engagement. The chairperson of the party outlined their current campaign strategy, which centers on a comprehensive door-to-door outreach program.

He explained that the initiative is designed to engage directly with residents, clearly communicating the party’s promises and detailing exactly what the MIV will deliver if elected.

Early indications suggest the grassroots approach is resonating with the public. Preliminary feedback from the campaign trail shows that many residents are welcoming the new party, with several locals expressing a willingness to give the newly formed MIV a chance to prove its commitment to the Capricorn District.

With its sights set not only on the 16 targeted wards but also on a broader vision to contest elections across the entire Limpopo province, the Molemole Independent Voice is positioning itself as a formidable new contender in the region’s political landscape.
