A protest led by the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in the predominantly Afrikaner community of Kleinfontein turned violent today, resulting in damaged infrastructure and litter strewn across streets. The demonstration, which targeted the existence of the ethnic enclave vandalizing property, and clashing with law enforcement.
Residents reported that the EFF members chanted slogans against the community, calling for its dissolution. Roads were blocked, and debris was left scattered, disrupting daily life. Local authorities condemned the destruction, emphasizing the right to protest peacefully without damaging property.
Police were deployed to monitor the situation, and clean-up efforts are underway. The EFF has not yet issued an official statement regarding today’s events.
