Phoenix, KZN – KZNVIP Emergency Control Center responded to a distressing incident this morning involving a 62 year old woman who was mauled by a dog while walking home after attending church on Baileybridge in Phoenix.
Emergency medical teams arrived promptly on scene to find the elderly female in a critical condition. She was stabilised by KZNVIP Emergency Medical Services and transported rapidly to a nearby medical facility for urgent treatment.
The breed of the dog involved in the attack remains unconfirmed at this stage. However, it is believed the animal belongs to a local resident in the Baileybridge area.
All relevant emergency services were in attendance, working collaboratively to manage the situation.
KZNVIP urges pet owners to ensure their animals are secured and do not pose a danger to the public.
