“My dear compatriots, as I told you during the election campaign – and I repeat – there is no happiness without effort,” Brice Oligui Nguema said, addressing his compatriots after winning the presidential election.
His campaign promises include transforming the economy away from its dependence on oil as well as eradicating corruption.
“I am a builder, and I need your courage, your force, to build this nation,” Nguema emphasized.
