Maxim expands into Vanderbijlpark, bringing more transport choices to the Vaal Triangle

Maxim, the e-hailing service connecting passengers with drivers through a simple mobile app, has officially launched in Vanderbijlpark. Residents and visitors can now enjoy another affordable way to travel for daily commuting, work, errands and getting home safely..

Maxim has been operating in South Africa since 2023 and continues to expand its presence across the country. As a licensed e-hailing service, Maxim is committed to providing safe, reliable and regulated transport solutions at affordable rates. Following successful launches in Welkom, Bloemfontein and several other regional cities, Vanderbijlpark becomes the 17th city in South Africa where Maxim’s services are now available.

The launch has already generated interest among residents. Maxim’s first ride order in Vanderbijlpark was received on 28 June, when a passenger requested a trip from Intercity on Frikkie Meyer Boulevard for a fare of R155. The trip marked the beginning of Maxim’s operations in the city and reflects the growing demand for accessible, app based transport.

Passengers can request a ride, view their fare before confirming the trip and connect with nearby drivers through the Maxim app. Operating in the mass market, Maxim offers rides and other services at 10% below market prices.

In Vanderbijlpark, passengers can choose the Standard category, which accommodates up to four passengers. City rides start from as little as R25, making everyday travel more affordable. Delivery services will be introduced in Vanderbijlpark soon, giving residents and local businesses an additional convenient way to send parcels, documents and essentials through the Maxim app.

Known for its strong industrial heritage and growing business and education sectors, Vanderbijlpark is a city where work, study and community life go hand in hand. From commuting to work or lectures to running errands and visiting family and friends, reliable transport plays an important role in everyday life. Maxim offers residents another affordable and reliable way to move around the city.

Safety remains central to Maxim’s service. The app includes real time ride tracking which allows passengers to share their live location with their contacts during a trip, while ride information is safely stored on the platform.

At a time when South Africa continues to fight high unemployment, Maxim’s launch in Vanderbijlpark also creates earning opportunities. Individuals can register as drivers and choose the hours that suit them best, whether they are looking for full-time work or just a side hustle. Earnings are linked to completed trips and deliveries, while commission starts from 0%, enabling partners to retain a larger share of what they earn.

“Every city has its own rhythm, and our goal is to provide transport solutions that fit the way people live and work. Vanderbijlpark is a vibrant economic hub within the Vaal Triangle, with thousands of people traveling every day for work, education and business. By launching Maxim here, we are making everyday mobility more accessible while creating flexible earning opportunities for residents who want to participate in the growing digital economy,” said Lesoli Lemphane, Head of Development at Maxim South Africa

The Maxim app is available to download on Apple App Store, Google Play, AppGallery & GalaxyStore. Residents of Vanderbijlpark can now use the app to request rides in a matter of seconds and experience a convenient, technology-enabled transport option in their city.
