19 October 2026 – Creating meaningful, sustainable change in the communities where it operates remains an important part of the Fidelity Services Group’s commitment to making a difference beyond its core business.
Through the Fidelity Foundation, the Group continues to invest in initiatives that support vulnerable communities, with a focus on areas including poverty alleviation, education, women empowerment, health and community wellbeing.
One such partnership is with CMR Middelburg, where ongoing support from the Fidelity Foundation is helping provide practical assistance and development opportunities to vulnerable children, women and families.
The partnership is focused on more than providing immediate relief. By supporting social welfare, education and community development programmes, the Fidelity Foundation is helping create stronger support networks and opportunities that can contribute to longer-term positive change.
“Our Community Matters is more than a statement for us – it is a commitment,” says Wahl Bartmann, Group CEO, Fidelity Services Group. “Through the Fidelity Foundation, we have an opportunity to support organisations such as CMR Middelburg that are working on the ground every day to help families, children and individuals who need support. While the challenges facing communities are significant, we believe that meaningful partnerships and sustained investment can help create opportunities, restore hope and strengthen communities.”
Through the Foundation’s support, CMR Middelburg has been able to deliver a range of initiatives reaching children, learners, women, families and other vulnerable members of the Middelburg community.
Over the past year, the partnership has made a tangible difference:
- 141 families received food assistance, clothing and essential household support
- 43 learners benefited from structured after-school academic support
- 39 children were enrolled in the Sango Daycare early childhood development programme
- 73 women participated in Women’s Day health and entrepreneurship empowerment programmes
- 750 learners and teachers were reached through educational drama and awareness programmes
- 261 community members accessed health and wellness support initiatives.
While these numbers demonstrate the reach of the programmes, the impact extends well beyond the statistics.
For a family facing food insecurity, assistance can provide much-needed relief. For a learner, after-school support can provide additional encouragement and a safe environment in which to learn. For young children, access to early childhood development can help establish important foundations for their future. And for women, access to health information, skills and entrepreneurship opportunities can help open pathways towards greater independence and economic participation.
“Partnerships such as this demonstrate what can be achieved when organisations come together with a shared commitment to community development,” says Shonita Basson, Office Manager & Finance Officer at CMR Middelburg. “The support from the Fidelity
Foundation enables us to reach more people and strengthen programmes that respond directly to the needs we see within our community.”
For Fidelity Services Group, the Foundation forms part of a broader commitment to creating positive social impact and supporting communities in meaningful and sustainable ways.
From helping families meet immediate needs to supporting education, empowerment and wellbeing, the Fidelity Foundation aims to contribute to communities that are stronger, more resilient and better equipped for the future.
Because making a difference is not only about responding when people need help. It is about investing in people, creating opportunities and building stronger communities together.
