Abbotts High School Bordeaux will welcome its first Grade 8 and Grade 9 students into a dynamic learning community where individuality, academic ambition and Freedom with Purpose take centre stage.
Randburg, Johannesburg: A bold new chapter in education is about to begin as Abbotts High School Bordeaux prepares to open its doors in January 2027.
Situated at 444 Jan Smuts Avenue in Bordeaux, the school will initially welcome Grade 8 and Grade 9 students. Senior grades will be introduced progressively, allowing the founding students to help shape its character, traditions and future.
“Opening a new school is an extraordinary opportunity because we are not simply preparing classrooms, we are building a community,” says Principal Marion Kohler. “Our founding students will help create the spirit and story of Abbotts Bordeaux.”
Abbotts Bordeaux will offer Randburg families a fresh educational choice that combines strong academic foundations, individual attention and structured support. Students will be encouraged to discover their strengths, express their individuality and take greater ownership of their learning.

The Grade 8 and Grade 9 programme will help students navigate the transition into high school with confidence. A dynamic curriculum, including STEAM-related learning, will promote curiosity, creativity and critical thinking. Personal development will also receive focused attention, helping students strengthen their emotional intelligence, time-management and decision-making skills.
Dedicated mentorship will ensure that every student is known, supported and guided towards meaningful goals.
“These are powerful years of growth,” says Kohler. “Young people are beginning to understand themselves and imagine their futures. Our role is to ensure they feel supported and inspired to aim higher.”

Abbotts offers scholarships to current Grade 7 students entering Grade 8 in 2027, as part of R2.1 million in awards across its campuses. Annual Bordeaux fees are R77 700 for Grade 8 and R82 300 for Grade 9. A 5% discount applies to full payment by 31 January 2027, with monthly options available. Non-refundable registration and enrolment fees also apply.
